Maw Jiggly's Marathon Musings!

So here I am one week into prepare your body for a marathon and it's going well hahahaha aye okay, I know it's only a week but we all have to restart somewhere!


My goals for May are simple:

  • Drink more water............check!

  • Exceed 10000 steps per day to improve time on my feet..........check!

  • Lose 6-8lbs......this week I lost 2.5 (I have lost a stone in 6 weeks)........I'll take that as a check!

  • Run 4 times a week..........check!!

I just need to repeat it all this week! Now we are away at the weekend for my dad's birthday so that will be a test, however I have to strike a balance between life and becoming obsessed so it will be what it will be!


I have been reading How to Run a Marathon by Vassos Alexander, he's the sports journalist on the Chris Evans Breakfast show, loves running and sounds like a really nice guy! It's a good book but I am not sure anyone who strives for a sub 3 hour marathon can really ever appreciate how exciting it will be to finish on the same day as I started! So if anyone has any reading recommendations please feel free to send them my way, I always find other peoples stories hugely inspirational.


Approx 55 weeks until I face the start line of 26.2 miles...........and I still firmly believe I am going to do it! That's the spirit...delusional maybe but keen to give it a go!


We have a wee Jiggly team who are on board and if we can do anything well that is support each other and encourage so I am counting on some good old fashioned Jiggly love to see me through!


It is actually quiet an exciting prospect to map your life out over a year and aim to do the one thing in running that scares the life out of me! Well they say if it doesn't challenge you it won't change you! Have a good week xx
